There was plenty of movement in women’s boxing following a busy weekend. Elif Nur Turhan had to dig deep to retain the IBF lightweight title with a narrow decision win over Gabriella Tellez on Saturday in Glendale, Arizona. Turhan relied heavily on her power and experience to slug her way past Tellez to hold on to her title. Although Turhan remains unbeaten, she slides one spot in the lightweight rankings to No. 3, behind Stephanie Han, after being challenged for the second consecutive time.
In Orlando, Florida, also on Saturday, Nataly Delgado outworked Jasmine Artiga to pull off the upset, securing a unanimous decision to claim the WBA junior bantamweight title. Delgado enters the rankings at No. 4, while Artiga slides out of the top 5 and is replaced by Shannon Ryan.
That wasn’t the only upset in Orlando as Esttfany Alegria dominated Evelin Bermudez to take a wide unanimous decision and nab the WBA, WBO and IBF junior flyweight titles. Alegria enters the rankings at No. 2 with the win, while Bermudez tumbles to No. 4 with the loss.
On the same card, Tiara Brown retained her WBC featherweight title with a win to keep the No. 2 spot in the division, and junior middleweight Oshae Jones ran into yet another controversial decision as she appeared to do enough to beat Elia Carranza but had to settle for a split draw in a rematch of their 2025 meeting. Jones stays at No. 3, while Carranza enters the rankings at No. 5.
On Thursday in Quebec City, Leila Beaudoin scored a unanimous decision win against Paulina Angel to retain her WBA interim junior lightweight title and the No. 2 spot in the division.
Rankings are updated every Tuesday. They’re based on recent bouts, head-to-head competition and the quality of opponent. As with almost everything, until fighters square off against one another, there is a layer of subjectivity to it. Fighters who haven’t fought in 18 months and don’t have a fight scheduled will be removed from the rankings until they fight again.
