Nollywood actress and producer Ayomide Dawodu has revealed that she remains single and is in no hurry to remarry, years after the end of a relationship she described as memorable despite its painful conclusion.
Speaking in an interview with Potpourri, the indigenous Lagos-born filmmaker said she has not found love since her relationship with her former partner ended in 2018.
According to Dawodu, the relationship was a beautiful experience that unfortunately came to an end, although she still cherishes the positive memories from that chapter of her life.
The producer of the cinema movie Single Action dismissed suggestions that she is actively searching for a partner, stressing that she has built a fulfilling life for herself and is not driven by societal pressure to get married again.
“The whole world is probably asking you when you’ll get married, but that decision is yours. Don’t rush it,” she said, while encouraging women to be strong, courageous, hardworking and self-determined.
She advised women to pursue their goals relentlessly, stand up for themselves and avoid measuring their progress against others.
“As a woman, you ought to be strong, self-determined, courageous and hardworking. Don’t set limits for yourself. Don’t engage in competitions; do your own thing,” she said.
Speaking on the qualities she desires in a future partner, Dawodu said she is waiting for a man who embodies honesty, maturity, intelligence and strong moral values.
“I want the right man who’s honest, mature, intelligent, has a positive attitude, is helpful, God-fearing, understanding, loving and caring,” she stated.
Beyond her personal life, the actress disclosed that she is currently developing new film projects. She revealed that she is putting together scripts and preparing for production on another movie, following the success of Single Action, a project that significantly boosted her profile in the Nigerian film industry.
