Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election victory.
Oborevwori described the win as a reward for purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance in Ekiti State.
He conveyed his message through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Festus Ahon, on Sunday in Asaba.
The governor said Oyebanji’s landslide victory reflected the people’s confidence and trust in his administration.
Oyebanji, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the 2026 Ekiti governorship election.
He secured 319,224 votes and was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oborevwori said the victory was historic, as it marked the first consecutive second-term win by a sitting governor in the state.
He noted that no Ekiti State governor had achieved such a feat since the return of democracy in 1999.
The Delta governor praised Oyebanji’s leadership style, citing inclusiveness, development and political stability.
He also commended APC leaders, stakeholders and grassroots supporters for contributing to the victory.
Oborevwori said their unity helped secure the governor’s overwhelming support across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas.
“Your re-election is a clear endorsement of your administration’s achievements and commitment to Ekiti State’s development,” he said.
He expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would strengthen ongoing programmes and economic growth.
Oborevwori wished the Ekiti State governor continued success, wisdom and good health in office.
