Knicks forward OG Anunoby made headlines over the NBA playoffs when it was revealed that he wears Skechers basketball shoes on the court. While Anunoby has long been an ambassador for the popular brand, his commitment to wearing them all the way to the championship game have led people to wonder: could Skechers basketball shoes actually be good?
If Anunoby’s NBA finals performance is to be believed, the answer is a resounding yes. The 28-year-old averaged 21.2 points per game during the Knicks’ series against the San Antonio Spurs and shot 50% from beyond the arc (I.e. three-point range). Most impressively, Anunoby had a field goal percentage of 67.2%, the highest mark for a player with at least 150 field goal attempts in NBA playoff history, per the latest league stats.
And he did it all while wearing Skechers.
ANUNOBY-APPROVED
Skechers SKX NEXUS Basketball Shoes
OG wore the Skechers SKX NEXUS basketball shoes in the Knicks Game 5 series win over the Spurs. The forward sported a pair in bright yellow, with a white sole and white Skechers “S” logo on the side.
Anunoby’s sneakers are available in seven other colors online and in men’s sizes 9 to 13 (see current size availability here). Though they make a range of sporting and comfort footwear, Skechers says these shoes are designed especially for basketball, with a lightweight build, extra foam cushioning and a supportive outsole (made with Goodyear rubber) to help “amplify traction for quick cuts on the court.”

Skechers SKX REIGN Basketball Shoes
Anunoby also swapped his kicks out for these Skechers SKX REIGN sneakers during some of the games. This one features a streetwear-inspired design with a high-top cut, mid-foot wrap for stability, and a springy sole for more explosive jumps (and cushier landings). Choose from five colors online.

The hype over Anunoby’s Skechers shoes comes on the heels of another big moment for the brand, which is launching its Skechers D’Lites 330 sneakers, a reimagining of the brand’s original D’Lites silhouette from the 2000s.
NEW RELEASE
Skechers Slip-ins: Arch Fit D’Lites 330
The new sneakers streamline the chunky silhouette popularized in the Y2K era by making the shoe more aerodynamic in look and feel. All of Skechers’ core features are all full display, including a hands-free slip-in design, plus podiatrist-certified arch support, and memory foam cushioning. The mesh upper is also lightweight and breathable.
Skechers D’Lites have been a hit with musicians like Britney Spears, Doja Cat, and Chappell Roan, and the new update makes the sneakers a stylish statement for daily wear and travel too. Multiple styles and colorways are available for men and women. See the full D’Lites collection here.
These are a brand new release so the D’Lites sneakers are not eligible for the BOGO promotion.
As for Anunoby — whose sneakers are eligible for the 50% off deal — Skechers seemed to acknowledge the hype over seeing its shoes in the NBA finals, posting an Instagram video depicting Anunoby as the Statue of Liberty (while wearing a Skechers jersey and Skechers shoes, natch). The caption: “They said it couldn’t be done in Skechers. @oanunoby made sure it was.”
