Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has paid tribute to late actor Alexx Ekubo, describing his death as a painful loss to the film industry.
In a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, Agu expressed sadness over Ekubo’s passing, noting that the late actor was talented, dedicated and had a promising future ahead of him.
“Rest in peace, Alexx Ekubo. I am deeply saddened by your passing. As a fellow actor and someone who has walked this path for many years, I know how much passion, sacrifice, and heart you poured into your craft,” he said.
Agu added that Nollywood had lost not only an actor but also a storyteller whose impact would continue to be remembered.
“You were young, talented, and full of promise, and it hurts to see a life like yours go out so soon. The stage and screen have lost not just an actor, but a storyteller who still had so many roles left to bring to life,” he stated.
Offering condolences to Ekubo’s family and loved ones, Agu prayed for strength and comfort for those mourning the actor.
PUNCH has previously reported that Ekubo died at the age of 40, with his family announcing that he passed away following complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
